The FATF’s report for the Sultanate of Oman, praised the country for its strong compliance with the FATF standards and the effectiveness of its AML/CFT system. The country received fully or largely compliant ratings on 39 out of 40 FATF recommendations. Additionally, in the effectiveness assessment, the FATF assigned moderate rating to seven outcomes while Oman achieved substantial rating in remaining four areas relating to the use of financial intelligence, criminalization of TF, implementation of PF-related Targeted Financial Sanctions and international cooperation.
